Skyrim under saarthal

Hi everyone. I'm replaying Skyrim again, and for some reason this time I can't seem to get the College of Winterhold quests working properly. I finished the Under Saarthal part, went back to talk to the Arch Mage, but then the game doesn't move onto the next quest "Hitting the Books".

I thought when I did it that they had to be matched up with say snake on left in the room, snake would be on left in the puzzle. That isn't the case. If it goes snake, eagle, dragon, wolf in the room with the answer, you need to change the other room to wolf, dragon, eagle, snake.
